Ladies, keep your ‘Daisy Dukes’ in the closet

April 23, 2003 by Optimist Reader

As the temperature heats up, I want to remind the ladies of ACU about our dress code. Ladies, when you dress, please consider your clothing carefully. I realize that in the heat, jeans can be unbearable, but short shorts and tank tops are unacceptable.

Ladies, we are women of God. He wants us to respect ourselves, which includes dressing appropriately. As daughters of God, we are to dress modestly. To do otherwise is disrespectful to us and to our Father.

As you dress, consider how you might affect the men on campus. The gentlemen of ACU try to avoid lustful thoughts, but how do you think seeing girls wearing very little affects them? Do you really want that type of attention from them?

As you are getting dressed, I encourage you to remember the words my mother taught me: dress with class, not as trash.
