Sindayigaya provisionally qualifies at Stanford Invite

Arthemon Sindayigaya qualified provisionally for the Division II Outdoor National Championships at the 10,000-meter run Friday, placing 28th in the event at the Stanford Invitational in Stanford, Calif. The junior met the provisional qualifying time of 31:25, but missed the automatic time of 29:20.

“My best time was 29:42, but I didn’t improve it because I was tired,” he said. “I will try to win at nationals.”

Softball team takes three of four in home series

The ACU softball team won three of its four games against visiting Texas A&M-Kingsville this weekend.

“This was a great weekend for us,” head coach Carol Tabor said. “Everyone was pleased with how we performed.”

Prior to the weekend, Kingsville was ranked No. 17 in the country.

“We’re starting to reap the benefits of playing a tough schedule. We’re getting stronger and stronger as time goes on,” Tabor said.

The Wildcats improved to 21-20 overall and 4-4 in the Lone Star Conference Southand head to Eastern New Mexico on Friday for a four game series with the Zias.
