Two music professors presented a recital Thursday night and will possibly perform again Friday.
Dr. Marion Cawood, voice instructor and professor of music, and Dr. Gustavo Tolosa, piano division director and assistant professor of music, performed in the Williams Performing Art Center, with a theme of, appropriately, love.
“Dr. Cawood will be singing love songs by composers such as Wolf, Schumann, and Strauss,” Tolosa said before the performance. “I will be performing two tangos and a very passionate work called ‘The Pathetique Sonata’ by Beethoven.”
Tolosa and Cawood have extensive histories in music.
Tolosa, an alumnus, served as a piano adjudicator for the Greece Performing Arts Society Young Artist Auditions in Greece, and he has played in over 300 performances in the United States and South America since 1978.
About 2,000 invitations were sent prior to the performance, including to all students, faculty and staff.
Cawood said they are planning on performing Friday if people are turned away from the Thursday performance.
