Your Voice: Fifth year students say Bean Sprout is on the decline

September 30, 2005 by Optimist Reader

After serving 4.5 years at ACU, we are simply appalled at the level which the Bean Sprout has dropped to. The menu only contains three options: beef, chicken, or salad.

We recall a time when the Bean Sprout was the place to be; a great option to the monotony of the World Famous Bean. However, that was also probably a time when it took less than an hour to order and receive your food.

This evening, we placed our order for the food at the Sprout–food we didn’t get to enjoy until 6:53 p.m. We could have gone to United, bought the ingredients, and cooked it ourselves by that time.

There were only 4 people ordering food, and the meals cost us $7.29 each. That, we believe, is the reason the Bean Sprout has fallen from its once excellent service–when they would bring the food out to you, and it was still hot when you got it.

If the Bean Sprout is going to continue, some serious exploration should be made to determine why it takes three people so stinking long to make a sandwich.
