Cross-country preps for ACU Naimadu Classic

October 9, 2009 by Jeff Craig

The cross-country teams will have one final chance to ready themselves for the Lone Star Conference Championships during the ACU Naimadu Collegiate and High School Classic in Abilene on Saturday.

Fresh from a strong fourth-place showing at the Pre-National Invitational in Indiana last month, the men’s team looks to sharpen up as they prepare to race for an 18th-consecutive conference title later this month. The Wildcats are currently ranked No. 5 in the nation. The women’s team will try to rebound from a slow start to the season as they head to the LSC Championships.

The Classic will be at Nelson Park and is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. The men’s team will again lean on Amos Sang, who put in a strong second-place finish at the Indiana invitational. The LSC Championships will be in Canyon on Oct. 24, and the NCAA South Central Regional will be in Abilene on Nov. 7.
