The Wildcats sit atop the first regional rankings of the 2010 golf season, according to an NCAA Division II South Central Region poll released Friday. The poll marks the first time under head coach Mike Campbell that the ‘Cats have been in this position. Dallas Baptist, Central Missouri, St. Mary’s and Midwestern State round out the top five, in order.

Additionally, golfer Alex Carpenter was named Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Week on Thursday after a strong finish at DBU earlier in the week. Carpenter has three tournament victories this season.
