Classical Artist Spotlight: Michael Shih

September 17, 2010 by Dave Smith

The Abilene Philharmonic prepares to begin its 2010-2011 concert series this weekend with a performance featuring Michael Shih. Shih, concertmaster of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra (FWSO) since 2001, has performed throughout America and around the world. A United States Presidential Scholar in the Arts, he was a winner in the Naumburg Violin Competition and Artists International’s Auditions, which led to his New York recital debut at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall in 1992. In preparation for this special upcoming concert, Shih sat in with our host D Grant Smith for this special insight.
