English teacher loses battle with cancer

Vickie Smith, instructor of English, died Saturday after a battle with cancer.

Smith graduated from Midwestern State University in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree. She earned her master’s from ACU in 1992, and began teaching full time at ACU in 1995.

Dr. Phil Schubert, president, informed faculty and staff of Smith’s passing Saturday evening in an e-mail. Information about the funeral is not yet available.
