The volleyball team played a close match Friday night against West Texas A&M University but ultimately fell short, losing, 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-21) in Canyon.

The Wildcats (4-6, 1-1 in the Lone Star Conference) had two late rallies in games one and two however, could not complete a comeback. In game three, the ‘Cats let a 10-3 advantage slip when the No. 7 Buffaloes went on a 12-3 run.

ACU has not beaten WTAMU since 2005 and has not won a set since 2009. But this match-up did prove the young Wildcats squad can compete against the best in the LSC.

The ‘Cats continued play in the LSC on Saturday with a contest against Eastern New Mexico University. The team had another close game winning, 3-2 (25-13, 15-25, 19-25, 25-17, 15-13).
