Jill Fortson, career network specialist, said the the Career Center has a reputation for being the key that connects students and alumni to the job market.
“The career center is a resource that students and alumni should take advantage of,”Â Fortson said.
Exciting opportunities for students lie ahead in the next month through the CareerÂ Center.
“These events give our students an advantage to get a head start in the race to find aÂ job and also become more marketable in the future,” Fortson said.
Upcoming Career Events through October:
Students are encouraged to take advantage of the events scheduled next month.
A LinkedIn photo booth and mock interviews will take place every month thisÂ semester.
“The headshots are free photos for students’ LinkedIn profile,” Fortson said.Â Fortson said that students should look into LinkedIn as a social media tool thatÂ connects them to employers.
Fortson said that because of resources like the Career Center ACU students are more prepared to enter the jobÂ market in comparison to students from other universities.
“It is clear that the resourcesÂ available to the students at the career center have been very beneficial,” saidÂ Fortson.
Fortson said connections are more than possible at ACU.
“We all have a piece in the puzzle,” Fortson said, in regards to faculty advisors, staff members and administrators to prepare students for their future careers.
