Food Wars: Nikki’s vs. Red Mango

September 6, 2013 by Alikay Wood

Nikki’s Swirl Shoppe

Flavors: Nikiki’s offers a variety of unique flavors ranging, some, like ooey gooey cinammon bun are delicious and others like green apple are disgusting. They also offer de-lite options which contain only eight calories per ounce. They have a board where customers can vote for their favorite flavors.

Toppings: 42 toppings including a lot of chocolate, decent selection of fruit and no cookie dough.

Price per ounce: $.45

Atmosphere: Nikki’s has a retro, laid back vibe and the odds of running into an ACU student are high. They sell cool tanks and shirts and even offer party packages.

Red Mango

Flavors: Red Mango only offers eight flavors but every single one is fantastic. Their yogurt tastes less like ice cream and more like legitimate frozen yogurt. White Peach is by far the best flavor offered.

Toppings: 34 toppings including a solid selection of sweets and fruit. No cookie dough.

Price per ounce: $.45

Atmosphere: Wedged into a corner of United across from Sharky’s, Red Mango doesn’t offer much in the way of decoration or providing a cool hang out spot.

Conclusion: If you’re looking for a cool place to hang out with friends than Nikki’s is the best option but if you want the best frozen yogurt than Red Mango wins hands down.

Royce Clough and Jael Morel have been named as Mr. and Miss ACU for the class of 2022, a traditional honor voted on by the student body and awarded to two members of each graduating class.
