SA brings more entertainment to campus

August 19, 2015 by Mercedez Hernandez

Nashville-based band Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors will perform at the first Wildcat Week concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Elmer Grey Stadium.

The concert is presented by the Students’ Association. Tickets are $5 and it is recommended to bring lawn chairs or blankets as the concert will be on the lawn of Elmer Grey Stadium.

The band’s indie roots lend it an eclectic sound with an Americana, pop-folk vibe similar to that of Ben Rector, an artist SA brought in for a performance last spring at the Paramount Theatre.

During the spring and summer, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors went on the Tour de Compadres tour, which featured acts such as Ben Rector, NEEDTOBREATHE and Colony House. The band will soon embark on their own tour, Medicine Fall, in late August.

The band’s latest album Medicine reached No. 47 on the Billboard 200 in February, and the band appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this year.
