Hector and the Search for Happiness takes its audience on a journey that is both heartwarming and thought provoking. We follow Hector, a perfectly normal in every way psychologist played by Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation) on his spontaneous journey to find what it means to be truly happy. He travels to exotic places and encounters all types of characters, including a wealthy banker, a powerful drug lord and an old flame. During his journey, Hector is still trying to maintain his relationship with his devoted girlfriend Clara, played by Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl), who is perplexed as to why he has suddenly made the decision to jet across the world.
Hector and the Search for Happiness questions what true happiness is and how someone might be able to find it. The movie is playful and has occasional moments of high-intensity action. Although the movie as a whole is pretty tame, anyone sensitive to adult language may want to skip this film.
