Campus Store relocates Graduation Fair

September 25, 2016 by Bryce Lurkens

Without the Campus Center Living Room, the Campus Store is trying to find a new venue for the annual ACU Graduation Fair.

The Graduation Fair will take place Oct. 13 for students planning to graduate this fall to purchase class gowns, caps and pictures. There will also be graduation announcements and class rings, provided by Jostens jewelry store, available for purchase.

The former location for the Graduation Fair, the Living Room, is no longer available as a venue, so the fair will be hosted at the Campus Store.

“Since the Living Room was right across from the store,” said store manager Scott Harsh, “it gave the employees easy access and transport for the merchandise.”

The fair had been held at the Campus Store before, although there wasn’t much room.

“It was a little tight, but it kept that inviting atmosphere, and maybe a little more excitement around it,” Scott said.

Derek Marcelain, an employee at the Campus Store, said he’s concerned that the space would be too crowded.

“With the options we’ve been given, we’re trying to work with what we can considering the amount of traffic flow,” Marcelain said. “The options we have right now are limited in areas where we can make designated lines for people to pass through. We’re just trying to find a place that would suit us as best as possible.”
