Forty-six members of the A Cappella Chorus embarked on their annual spring tour through West Texas on Feb. 28. The members, along with Conductor Jeffery Goolsby and Pianist Judy Brown, started their journey at Abilene Cooper High School and ended 6 cities and 6 days later in Amarillo.
The A Cappella Chorus wants to expose people to Choir and genres alike, so every year they tour across West Texas performing for prospective high school students, college campuses and a even morning church services.
Along the way, they performed for schools, such as San Angelo Central, Lubbock Coronado and Midland Lee, trying to recruit people to become future Wildcat Choir members. Kayla Torp, senior Vocal Music Ed major from Coolidge, said the overall goal, however, was to “encourage people to follow their dreams in music.”
They made additional stops in Lubbock for an A Cappella clinic and in Midland to perform a concert at the First United Methodist Church of Midland.
The team ended up back in Abilene for their final performance, the “Coming Home Concert,” at the Church of Heavenly Rest on March 5.
