Hannah Pinson, senior accounting major from Abilene was struck by a vehicle near the corner of Campus Court and College Drive after the Surfaces concert on Saturday night. Pinson was taken to a hospital and treated for a severe concussion and other minor injuries and is reported to be in a stable condition. ACUPD later confirmed another student was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.

“Both students are ok; One was treated at the hospital and is expected to be ok,” ACUPD Chief Jason Ellis said.

ACUPD also confirmed there was no alcohol involved as well as no foul play suspected but were not able to release any more details about the incident.

Ellis confirmed that after the incident, there are ongoing conversations about making the area safer, including placing a flashing crosswalk sign on the crosswalk between Barrett Hall and Mabee Hall in the future.
