ACU football opened its first season in the Western Athletic Conference Saturday evening against the Southern Methodist University Mustangs in Dallas. After a close first quarter, the Mustangs pulled ahead of the Wildcats, defeating them 56-9. The Wildcats now stand 0-1 overall as they prepare to face Louisiana College at home on Saturday.
