The football team defeated Northwestern State Saturday afternoon 49-47 to give them its fourth conference victory this season for the first time as a Div. I program since 2014.
This put the Wildcats over .500 on the season both overall and in conference play (5-4, 4-3). For the Demons, they slip to 3-6 overall and 2-5 in conference.
Redshirt junior Tracy James was a key player in the game running for 93 yards and a touchdown. He also linked up with redshirt sophomore quarterback Luke Anthony for 22 reception yards and two touchdowns.
Anthony finished with 31 completions on 47 attempts for 344 yards and three touchdowns. Overall, the offense totaled 487 yards on the day.
Defensively, junior linebacker Jeremiah Chambers continued his strong season leading the team with 11 tackles and 1.5 tackles for a loss.
ACU will now prepare to face Sam Houston in Huntsville. The game will be a 2:30 next Saturday.
