Chinese buffets have a certain level of omnipresence about them; Â they just seem to appear on every street corner.
Harvest Moon Chinese buffet on E.N. 10th Street, ACU’s friendly neighborhood Chinese Buffet is nothing fancy, but they offer quality food at a reasonable price.
For under eight bucks, the restaurant offers an all-you-can eat buffet with more than 40 food items available – Â from ice cream to egg rolls.
Harvest Moon is perfect for those who find the taste of soupy, saucy and syrupy Chinese dishes repulsive. Since their food is light on the sauce, it’s imperative that their meats are tender and quality. Harvest Moon is up to the challenge. Most of their meats are pretty tender and of decent quality.
The restaurant also offers several non-Chinese side items to accompany favorites like sesame chicken, broccoli beef, Mongolian beef and sweet-and-sour pork. Tater tots, fried okra and corn nuggets are among the non-Chinese favorites. Of course, they have vanilla soft-serve to finish things off.
Harvest Moon’s best dish, however, is its spicy house meatballs. The meatballs are small, about the size of a shooter marble, and sautéed in a succulent spicy soy gravy. They are small enough to fit in your mouth in one bite, but chances are you can’t eat just one.
If you are expecting gourmet Chinese, Harvest Moon is not your place. However, if you are looking for quick, quality food, it’s a perfect option.
