Change is in the air all over campus, visitors.
If you came back to watch Wildcat football, you picked a good year to come home.
The ACU football team is on a tear, having won two straight games.
That may not seem like a monumental streak, but ACU certainly has the momentum going into Saturday’s game against the Angelo State Rams.
ACU has beaten both Lone Star Conference teams it has faced, and has lost twice to nationally-ranked teams.
Not bad.
So stay for the football game Saturday-Shotwell will most likely be packed to catch a glimpse of the red-hot Wildcats.
Another difference exists on campus, however. You may have passed it coming into town on Judge Ely Blvd. You really cannot miss it.
The new $16 million J. McDonald Williams Performing Arts Center is nearing completion, and soon patrons of the arts will flood through the glass doors and get a first look at the 92,000 square foot structure.
This building is really a long time coming for the university. Sewell Auditorium has been a mainstay on campus and in the arts for the majority of the university’s existence, but the building is no longer able to handle the wear and tear put on it by the theater department
In addition to theater, every other fine art offered at ACU will be given ample space in the Williams center.
So take in all the sights and sounds of this dear Christian college, but don’t miss the two biggest things on campus.
Football and “The Don.”
