Tennis to close fall in Arizona

November 6, 2015 by Max Preston

ACU’s men and women tennis teams will, for the first time this semester, head to the same tournament this weekend in the Grand Canyon invitational in Arizona.

Both the teams will look to cap off the fall season well in this final tournament after great a performance in the ITA Regionals.

The men will take the whole team to Arizona and try to duplicate the great regionals tournament they had in which they had three third rounders (Joshua Sheehy, Jason Proctor, and Hunter Holman) and a champion of the consolation bracket (Nico Agritelley). The doubles pairs will be announced, along with their scores, in the recap.

The women will be sending the whole team to Arizona and will have plenty of confidence going in from regionals as well. The women had a 2nd rounder (Nada Marjanovic) and also two women that made the third round of the main bracket (Lucile Pothier and Kaysie Hermsdorf) in regionals. Their doubles will be announced in the recap as well.

“We are really excited to get out there and finish the season strong.” Said Marjanovic. “We’ve been working hard and have really come a long way so I’m excited to see the team compete against some great schools and have some great matches. We know we’ll get the chance to play quite a few matches which is really excited and just looking forward to representing ACU finishing the fall season on a high.”

Both teams will begin play on Friday at 8 AM and will continue until Sunday.
