The softball team started off home play with an exclamation by sweeping the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 3-0, including a second career no-hitter for redshirt sophomore Hannah Null. The Wildcats completely dominated the series, outscoring Pine Bluff 31-3 over the three games.

The Wildcats won the first game 9-0 against the Golden Lions, starting when sophomore Brianna Barnhill crushed a grand slam in the first inning, scoring 4 runs right off the bat. Junior Casey-May Huff was able to score an unearned run in the fourth on an error, and both Huff and senior Cara Hoover scored two-RBIs each in the fifth inning.

Null pitched a perfect 5.0-innings and recorded 12 strikeouts and no hits in her best performance of the season. Null is only the fourth ACU pitcher to record a no-hitter and only the second to have done it twice.

ACU won the Saturday night game in an 8-0 shutout. Freshman Allison Turner pitched a complete 6.0-innings with three strikeouts and three hits. Sophomores Alyson Bishoff and Baylee Travers and juniors Alli Spivey and Kaleigh Singleton all recorded RBIs from the fourth to the sixth inning. Sophomore Peyton Hedrick hit a home run in the bottom of the sixth to finish the game.

Sunday’s game ended in a 14-3 win for the Wildcats, who started scoring in the first inning and kept Arkansas off the scoreboard until the fifth. Huff pitched 5.0-innings and gave up five hits and three runs, bringing her current ERA to 2.92. Every Wildcat starter got at least one hit in the game and the team collectively recorded 13 RBIs, including a home run by Hoover and a three-run homer by sophomore Holly Neese. Junior Taylor Brown added another triple to her stats, bringing her career total to 16.

The Wildcats current record is 6-11 and they begin play in the Southland Conference next weekend in three games against Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond, Louisiana.

"Ending my college education early was always the plan for me, but the things that I have been able to see, experience and examine about ACU’s community were not. I have found immense growth in ACU over the past three and a half years, but ACU still has a long road to climb if it wants to keep catering to students as the world changes around them."
