The Students' Association executive cabinet debate Tuesday night focused on communication and including diverse groups of students. About 170 students attended the debate in Hart Auditorium. A spiritual formation credit was offered, so many students like Esther Lau, a freshman Bible major from Macau, China and Alysa Gonzales a freshman marketing ... [Read More…]
Is coffee and Jesus all you need?
"All I need is coffee and Jesus." It's a popular phrase on mugs, T-shirts and Instagram. It's a phrase heard often on campus in different forms. "I spend all my Bean Bucks on Starbucks." "Coffee is life." But with Lent, a season of sacrifice, right around the corner, we must ask ourselves whether or not we can actually survive without ... [Read More…]
Texting a powerful tool in stopping domestic violence
One of the most unsettling commercials in this year's Super Bowl was the "No More" domestic violence ad. The ad was simple, with no music, displaying only text messages on an iPhone screen. One girl texts her friend and invites her to a Super Bowl party. The friend says she can't go out because "Jake is in one of his moods." The first friend ... [Read More…]
Too many church choices is no excuse
More choices is always better. This department store sells more brands. That ice cream shop has more flavors. This town has more churches. More choices means ACU students have plenty of options for choosing a church. There's only one place to eat on a Friday night at 2 a.m., but on Sunday morning, you can take your pick of the various ... [Read More…]
No one’s dating because no one knows what it is
The problem with critiquing dating is that there are no set definitions for the word. It is both a verb and an adjective, an activity and a lifestyle. While plenty of people on campus are getting engaged (ask any social club girl how many they squealed about last week), few students are actually dating because no one knows what dating really is. At ... [Read More…]
Join the real breakfast club – every morning
It's 8:30 a.m. and you can snooze for 10 more minutes, or you can get up and eat a quick bowl of cereal. You're faced with the age old question: bed or breakfast? USDA research shows only 44 percent of American adults eat breakfast everyday, even though 93 percent believe it's the most important meal. Like any aspect of diet, debates about ... [Read More…]

Administration to reconsider iPad requirements
The Office of Educational Technology will not change iPad requirements for Fall 2016, but will consider the change for 2017. Scholarship fundraising campaign reaches $50 million goal
The Partnering in the Journey fundraising campaign reached its goal of $50 million for the endowment fund thanks to an alumnus' donation. From Barbie to ballots – why its ok to vote like your parents
In 2004, I went to an outdoor rally for former President George W. Bush in Albuquerque. I remember that I was cold and that my dad bought me hot chocolate. I have no idea what Bush talked about. But I remember writing in my Barbie diary that it wasn't fair that 8-year-olds couldn't vote. I couldn't wait to be 18 so I could support Bush just like my ... [Read More…]
