The faculty has approved changes to university policy that reduces the number of hours students can transfer from other colleges. The new policy increases the number of hours students must take from ACU to graduate with a degree from the university. Students will now be required to have earned at least 48 hours of credit from ACU to graduate, the ... [Read More…]
Anson lights remain mystery
Some say a lost soul roams the hills northwest of Anson; others believe it's a ghost swinging a lantern back and forth. Skeptics say it's an unremarkable phenomenon easily explained by logic - but the only thing certain about a mysterious light in the sky near Anson, Texas, is no one is certain. Anson, a town of 2,500 located about 30 miles north ... [Read More…]

With classes canceled and the university shut down, several Sing Song Acts had to postpone or cancel practice last week. Preparations for Sing Song already must be quicker than normal, with the semester starting at a later date than in past years. Clubs and class acts have one less week to practice than was available last year. Despite the ... [Read More…]

Mexican cafe offers authentic flavor

Alfredo's features authentic Mexican dishes in an authentic Mexican environment. Posters written in Spanish adorn walls that are painted to resemble an underwater scene. Artist ... [Read More…]
Teacher impacted touched students’ lives
I don't think I'll ever forget Vickie Smith. My sophomore year at ACU I enrolled in Ms. Smith's English 112 class, assuming it would be easy. I quickly found out that Ms. Smith had no intentions of ever teaching a blow-off class. The first day of class she told us her course would be the hardest class we'd ever taken. She wasn't lying. Ms. Smith ... [Read More…]

It's been cold in Texas this week, to say the least. Believe it or not, the good folks in New York City, Boston, Washington and Philadelphia saw warmer weather this week than Abilene. Snow and sub-zero wind chill factors have turned Abilene into a bone-chilling, frozen wasteland. In fact, the Green Bay Packers had to move their practice inside in ... [Read More…]
