On Sept. 4, I was visiting ACU. That afternoon I was in the library there on campus; I was on the third floor. About 4:30 I began to have chest pains and started to sweat rather profusely. Some students and library personnel noticed that something was wrong. In a few minutes, an ambulance was called and I was on my way to Hendrick Hospital. I learned that I had had a heart attack.
Fortunately, it turned out to be a mild one. It’s been nearly three weeks now and I’m back in Fort Worth and back at work. So I’m doing OK. I didn’t know any of the students or personnel in the library that day. I sure would like to, though, if for no other reason than to express my thanks for their help on that day. It’s a great example of what Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan was all about!
