A “dancing” pig has run amuck at Abilene Christian University. What is a “dancing pig” you ask? Well let an ol’ farm boy tell you.
If a pig can get his snout under the fence or gate, he will continue to push and push until he has his whole body through.
The “dancing pig” is now out. He has been seen at basketball games, off-campus at public displays and will be appearing at Homecoming.
He began his quest, very innocently. He was approved because it was said he had “cultural expression.” Everything the pig does now, reportedly, has “cultural expression.”
Now, the “dancing pig” has a couple of clubs where he teaches would-be “dancing pigs” how to escape the nasty old confines that once controlled their movements.
Yes, “dancing pigs” can now be seen running … no, dancing wildly around and through the campus of ACU which, by the way, has an administrative policy that there is to be no dancing on campus or off. While they dance, the world can be heard to say, “go pig, go”.

The Student Guide cites the policy on dancing as follows:
“2-23. Dancing is a matter of personal choice for students (except as described in 2-22 above), although the university will not allow sponsorship of dances by any of its organizations, either on or off campus.”
