An 11-year-old boy was struck on his bicycle Thursday morning by a car traveling east on E.N. 16th Street shortly before 8 a.m. The boy, who was on his way to Taylor Elementary School, traveled from north to south across E.N. 16th when a female driving a black SUV struck him on his right side.
ACU Chief of Police Jimmy Ellison said the boy was “injured, but not seriously.” To Ellison’s knowledge, no citations were issued.
Officers from the Abilene Police Department were first to arrive on the scene, followed by ACU Police officers and an ambulance.
Ellison said the call was made to the APD, who handled the scene. ACUPD then responded, handling traffic control around the scene.
