“I am so incredibly honored and humbled. This is an incredible place, with incredible people,” Schubert said. “I’m grateful to so many of you in this room who have provided incredible support and encouragement to me and Jamie through the past few months.”

President-elect Schubert then acknowledged his colleague and co-finalist Dr. Rick Lytle.

“He’s a fine man who brings incredible talents and passions to the university,” Schubert said. “He will be a vital part of the university moving forward.”

"Ending my college education early was always the plan for me, but the things that I have been able to see, experience and examine about ACU’s community were not. I have found immense growth in ACU over the past three and a half years, but ACU still has a long road to climb if it wants to keep catering to students as the world changes around them."
