Students can now take a behind-the-scenes look at what the ACU Men’s Basketball team does when they’re not on the court.
In order to be a part of the Tip In Club, students must pay a fee to be a member. As a member, students receive a bi-weekly newsletter that informs them about what the players have been doing as a team and how they are preparing for games.
“We also highlight a player for each newsletter,” Cooper Schmidt, director of Basketball Operations said. “This gives the fans an opportunity to know a little bit more about a player rather than just a name and number.”
Also included in the newsletter, is a section for Coach Joe Golding to talk about what he has been stressing to the team and compare it to everyday life. Members also receive a complimentary T-shirt.
This Tip In Club is a fundraiser for the team. The coaches have 15 men that they would like to be able to produce the best college experience for. The money raised helps the coaching staff provide resources to help the players excel in the classroom and help with the costs associated with team travel.
“I hope to see the Tip In Club grow in popularity,” Coach Golding says. “The support and generosity from our fans helps to keep this program headed in the right direction both on and off the court. The purpose of Tip In Club is to give an inside look at our program and provide the members with information about our program that the general public may not know.”
