Moody finishes wheelchair ramps

April 17, 2013 by Josh Garcia

The construction project in Moody is now complete.

As part of ACU’s continuing efforts to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the project aimed to provide accessible seating for individuals with disabilities. ADA requires that establishments, including universities, accommodate for disabled individuals where feasible.

Construction began in mid-March. A total of 30 handicapped seats were installed. The project was headed by Scot Colley and the Office of Construction and Risk Management.

The project would normally have been completed during the summer, but it would have interfered with cosmetic work being done for the transition to Division-I.
