Purple Collar Tees open for business in ACU E-Hub

September 17, 2013 by Marci Hoxworth

Two students opened the Purple Collar Tee business under the supervision of the Griggs Center for Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy. All of their proceeds go to funds for student academic scholarships.

Logan Stevens, sophomore accounting major from Allen, and Tyler Eidson, junior marketing and finance major from College Station, are now in business with their Purple Collar Tees company.

“The company’s mission is to provide exceptional service, quality and competitive pricing,” Stevens said.

Purple Collar Tees offers competitive t-shirt printing prices starting as low as $6.50. The company also offers logo and graphic design options starting at an additional $20.

The business not only prints for ACU clubs and events, but also has contracts with churches and other universities like Sam Houston State University. The business is prepared to work with big and small orders to provide all printing needs.

“The customer matters most,” Eidson said.

Stevens and Eidson became involved through the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization, supervised by Dr. Jim Litton, director of the Griggs Center for Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy. The club is a nationally recognized and student-led global entrepreneurship network.

Through their involvement with the organization, Stevens and Eidson were invited by Litton to work together on the new business venture. Eidson said the opportunity was an unexpected blessing, because his involvement in another organization fell through prior to the Purple Collar Tees.

“God closed one door and opened the other. It was cool how we can get that,” Eidson said.

For students looking to get involved in entrepreneurship and business ventures like the Purple Collar Tees company, Stevens and Eidson said to get involved in clubs through the College of Business Administration and to get to know Dr. Litton.

“Join a club, express your interest and opportunities will come to you,” Stevens said.

The Purple Collar Tees office is located in the E-Hub across from Nelson Hall, but information is most accessible through email. Eidson, the CEO, can be directly contacted at tce10a@acu.edu.
