The ACU experience brought personal growth

October 18, 2013 by Alikay Wood

When I came to ACU I did not know a single person.

Now, two years later, this school has become the cornerstone of my community and the strongest push for my personal growth.

This is a place where learning happens. I have been challenged to think critically and imaginatively, to dream big but have a concrete plan for achieving those dreams. My learning has not been limited to the classroom but has occurred wherever the ACU community resides. Whether this is Oxford or Whataburger, I’m lucky to have learned equally as much outside the classroom as in it.

Being here has led me to interact with some of the greatest people I have ever met and allowed me to develop deep relationships. Here, my faith has been dismantled so that I can rebuild it again stronger than before and be prepared to defend it to the outside world.

ACU isn’t perfect. It’s a man-made institution that is constantly being improved upon, but it’s home.
