ACU Police Department is readying for a night on the town.
ACUPD Lt. Randy Motz said the department is participating in National Night Out to allow students and community to see the officers in a more informal setting.
National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that promotes police community partnership and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live.
The fliers for this event were handed out to ACU students and anyone living from East North 16th Street to East North 19th Street. This small community is invited to the gathering Tuesday at 6-8 p.m.
The event will feature:
- Food truck 1881
- Inflatables
- Booth from the Regional Crime Victim Crisis Center with frisbee toss
- Marine pull-up bar competition
- DWI driving simulator
- Selfie booth
- Crime Stopper information station
“There are more of you guys than there are of us, and we can use those extra eyes to reduce crime within this neighborhood,” Motz said.
