Presidential race is far from over

March 31, 2016 by Kassie Kim

After March 5, news outlets were saying that the Republican race was becoming a Trump vs Cruz race. At the time, there were still two other Republican candidates. After his loss in Florida on March 15, Marco Rubio officially dropped out of the race, leaving three candidates, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and John Kasich. Right now, it's still anyone's ... No one’s dating because no one knows what it is

March 31, 2016 by Haley Remenar

The problem with critiquing dating is that there are no set definitions for the word. It is both a verb and an adjective, an activity and a lifestyle. While plenty of people on campus are getting engaged (ask any social club girl how many they squealed about last week), few students are actually dating because no one knows what dating really is. At ... [Read More…]

Planned Parenthood provides more than abortions

March 31, 2016 by Rachel Fritz

Many state legislators have decided to pull the plug on Planned Parenthood because of a lack of funding, and some have rejoiced at its fall. Planned Parenthood supporters back the organization because it provides affordable family planning services to women, and men, who may not be able to afford the same healthcare elsewhere. Those fighting ... [Read More…]

National Public Radio is still news

March 31, 2016 by Hannah Little

National Public Radio. Not only is it a newsworthy radio station that you can listen to on the radio, but you can also listen online and on your phone with the download of the app. The app for NPR is live and is constantly working, publishing, and playing news stories as they come in. Once they are played often, newer stories come into the ... [Read More…]

Scholarship gift should be bigger news

March 31, 2016 by Allison Brown

ACU recently received one of the largest gifts in its history toward the Partnering in the Journey scholarship campaign. Lacy and Dorothy Harber gave $20 million toward scholarships for students in the College of Biblical Studies, making it the university's second-largest scholarship endowment gift. The Harber's gift was announced during Sing Song ... [Read More…]

My vote didn’t matter and yours might not either

March 31, 2016 by Mercedez Hernandez

Two weeks ago I voted, but unlike all the posters and campaigns told me it would, I feel like my vote did not count. I was excited in the weeks leading up to the Texas primaries, but as the day approached I soon understood that I would have to make a decision, not just on who I wanted to vote for but if I wanted my vote to count nationally or ... Trump continues to earn support despite protesters

March 31, 2016 by Collin Wieder

[AS EVENTS SWIFTLY SHIFT, TRY TO STAY RELEVANT AS BEST YOU CAN: WHAT'S THE CRITICAL DIVIDING LINE FOR THE LEVEL OF TRUMP'S SUPPORT? LESS THAN 50% OF DELEGATES MIGHT ALLOW A CONTESTED CONVENTION. IS CRUZ A 'NORMAL' CANDIDATE? THAT'S PERTINENT, BECAUSE SOME CONSERVATIVES DON'T WANT TO SUPPORT HIM EITHER, WHEN HE SAYS THINGS LIKE HIS CALL TO SEND THE ... [Read More…]

The LeBron James worship should stop

March 31, 2016 by Daniel Zepeda

Enough is enough. We as the media have got to draw a line in the sand and say no more. No more continuous and agonizing moments of decrypting LeBron James' ominous tweets. No more debate about whether or not he is responsible for the firing of two NBA head coaches. No more discussion about if he will ever bring a championship home to ... [Read More…]

Join the real breakfast club – every morning

March 31, 2016 by Haley Remenar

It's 8:30 a.m. and you can snooze for 10 more minutes, or you can get up and eat a quick bowl of cereal. You're faced with the age old question: bed or breakfast? USDA research shows only 44 percent of American adults eat breakfast everyday, even though 93 percent believe it's the most important meal. Like any aspect of diet, debates about ... [Read More…]

How to win in the second half

March 31, 2016 by Allison Brown

March Madness is in full swing, and no, we don't just mean the basketball tournament. Now that Spring Break has come and gone and Good Friday teases us again with another day off, the full fledged "we-are-ready-for-summer" longing sends us into what could only be described as a bit of madness. As we reenter life on the hill, it's ever so ... [Read More…]
