The American Enterprise Institute Executive Council is starting a book club this semester. AEI is committed to connecting students at ACU to the world beyond Texas and has been active on campus in the past by hosting speakers on campus and helping with internships.
The mission of the book club is to “bring students together from different majors to discuss a book that AEI has picked,” Madeline Dayton said.
The first book being reviewed by the club is a biography of James Madison by Lynne Cheney. This book will help students connect through an understanding of our nation’s history and the policy of our country. The book club is an excellent way to promote a gathering of students and advance their academic understanding of the world around us.
AEI has also been great to ACU by bringing speakers from different backgrounds to expose our students to new ideas. In the past, AEI has brought a fellow from the Manhattan Institute and a political science analyst to speak to ACU students about their fields of study. On Feb. 26, they are bringing in a speaker for Justice Week.
