The Outlaws and Legends Music Festival will return to The Back Porch of Texas for its eighth annual show, according to its official website. The website said this show is “the biggest 1-stage event in Texas.” The festival will take place Friday and Saturday.
This weekend’s festival will feature artists such as Dwight Yoakam, Reckless Kelly, Ray Wylie Hubbard and more.
Alumnus Mark Powell stated in the 2018 Outlaws and Legends Music Festival Sponsorship Catalog the music festival benefits the Ben Richey Boys Ranch and Family Program. Powell will also perform in this year’s festival, said the catalog.
The Ben Richey website, and Powell in the sponsorship article, said the money comes from “charitable donations from the fans and festival organizers” as well as “ticket proceeds” and “loyal sponsors.”
The Ben Richey website said the Family Program portion helps single mothers by helping them become financially independent.
The Ben Richey Boys Ranch portion is “a private, non-profit basic child care facility” and provides boys with a place to live, play and learn how to be a part of society, said its website.
