Letter to the Editor: Allegations in letter are false

April 6, 2018 by Special Contributor

–by Ty Kelley, candidate for Student Government Association executive president

Students,

Before I begin, I would like to stress my respect for Julia Kennedy and Madeline Dayton and reiterate their abilities as leaders on this campus. This opinion in no way reflects my feelings on the character of either one of these individuals, but rather expresses my concerns with the opinion piece that was released by their campaign team to The Optimist.

I am writing in a response to the opinion written by the campaign team for Madeline Dayton and Julia Kennedy to shed some light on the allegations made against myself and my running mate Rachel Jones. I am extremely disappointed that the Dayton/Kennedy team continually emphasizes justice, and yet, published a very unjust and flippant opinion piece. I will quote direct excerpts from the piece and explain using factual data why the alleged allegations are false. You can view my response on our campaign website at the following link: http://kj4sga.com/opinion/.

Best,

Ty Kelley
