The Wildcat men and women’s cross country teams will head to Lubbock this weekend to compete in the Texas Tech Open.
After both teams had respective showings at the Naimadu Classic, the Wildcats will look keep its momentum going into Lubbock.
Senior Carnley Graham from the women’s team and Freshman Kevin Kipkosgei from the men’s team both recently received Southland Conference runners of the week awards for finishing first individually at the Naimadu Classic.
Graham said that she was very pleased with how they have started off the season so far and that they are looking to continue to improve and strive for more.
“I am really pleased with how we performed at our first meet. I’m proud of all the girls, and the guys too. I am looking forward to competing. just seeing how everyone competed and gave it their all made me so excited, It was a positive way to start off the season with some good performances,” Graham said. “I am hoping that the momentum we built carries with us to Lubbock. I’m very excited for what’s to come later in the season for this program.”
The Texas Tech Open will be held on Saturday.
