This semester, the Spiritual Formation Office adopted a new app for chapel points called Suitable. This app replaced Involvio, which was referred to as ACU Connect. Suitable has had much more positive feedback than ACU Connect so far but there are a number of minor issues the Spiritual Formation is continuing to work through.
When Involvio was in use, the promised outcomes were ultimately entirely different than the actual results. The issues did not necessarily stem from the Involvio App but the way Banner and ACU Connect transferred information. Chapel credits would show up weeks later and left a large workload for the Spiritual Formation Office.
Not only did it leave the Spiritual Formation Office with a weighty workload, it also left students unhappy.
Suitable has had some similar issues but not to the same extent. The Spiritual Formation Office was promised the chapel points would load within a couple of hours but the reality is actually a few days simply due to the sheer amount of small group chapels offered.
“At some events, it has been slower due to the amount of spiritual formation programming we do,” Cyrus Eaton, spiritual formation director said. “It has been increasing some of that time to a day or more.”
Returning students have been positive about the time it takes to process chapel points because it is such an improvement from prior semesters. However, students have encountered other issues with Suitable.
Abby Ramsbottom, sophomore pre-OT major from Grapevine said there have been some positives that have come from the switch in apps.
“It has been nice that you can see where all the chapels are on the app,” Ramsbottom said.
The Spiritual Formation Office is continuing to improve the efficiency of how Banner works with Suitable.
