Gallery: New Wildcats and families gather for Goodbye Blessing

August 20, 2025 by Callie Brimberry and Daniel Curd

The 2025 Goodbye Blessing welcomed new students and their families into the community with prayer, worship and encouragement. Dr. Tamara Long, vice president for enrollment and student engagement, opened the event by greeting the incoming class and their loved ones. Dr. Phil Schubert, president of the university, offered words of encouragement about the journey ahead, followed by Dr. Ryan Richardson, vice president for student life, who shared about the opportunities and growth that come with student life at the university. The event closed in prayer and song as families and students stood together, singing “The Lord Bless You and Keep You,” led by Wildcat Week directors and members of Spiritual Life.
