A case allegedly involving two current and one former ACU football players has been closed, according to Rick Tomlin, public information coordinator for the Abilene Police Department.
“The victim in the case signed a release form which states they are not pursuing charges,” Tomlin said via email. “There is nothing available since it has been closed with no adjudication and the person has decided not to pursue.”
Abilene television station KTXS reported on the case Jan. 18.
Wendy Jones, chief human resources officer and Title IX coordinator, said the Title IX office was unable to comment on the specific case.
“Title IX and Criminal investigations can run concurrently or independently,” Jones said. “One report’s closing does not impact the other.”
