Our ACU Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will be in concert this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Cullen Auditorium.
“We are excited to share our students’ efforts with the ACU community,” said Dr. Brandon Houghtalen, associate director of bands.
This event is open to all. ACU Concert Band will be performing “The Cave you Fear” by Michael Markowski, “Shenandoah” arranged by Omar Thomas, “Albanian Dance” by Shelley Hanson, and “Incantation and Dance” by John Barnes Chance.
ACU Wind Ensemble will be performing “Overture to the School for Scandal” by Samuel Barber/arr. Hudson, two works by Percy Grainger and II. Allegro from Drastic Measures by Russel Peck.
The Saxophone Quartet will also be playing a piece. The Wind Ensemble will be joined for a special performance by Dr. Janelle Ott, adjunct professor of bassoon, who will join the Wind Ensemble playing the Jacob Bassoon Concerto.
“People should come because there is nothing quite like hearing young adults, from all different majors, joining together to create music for an audience” said Jordan Morrow, freshman physics major.
