JamFest, a concert featuring several ACU student bands, will rock the lawn outside the Robert D. and Shirley Hunter Welcome Center from 6-9 p.m. on Friday. The concert will be followed by a fireworks show.
Riley Orr, junior biology major from Coppell and Homecoming co-director, and Carter DeJarnett, senior English major from Jackson, Tenn., and JamFest coordinator, held auditions for the concert and organized the list of performances.
“Last year was a big hit, so we’re really looking to build on that,” Orr said.
The concert will feature three stages and 10 musical acts.
“We’ll have a single-person acoustic, a country trio, alternative rock bands and a few cover bands,” Orr said.
Spencer Goudeau, junior English major from Colorado Springs, Colo., will be playing with his band Gypsy Fox. This will be the folk acoustic band’s debut performance.
“We’re extremely excited for everyone to hear us,” Goudeau said. “I know we’re good.”
Thus Far and Dan & the Stage Band are also included in the concert’s lineup.
“It will be a relaxed environment, but there will be some bands that are more high-energy than others,” Orr said.
