Chapel Leadership Teams are being organized for those who want to participate in a praise team during Chapel or for those who wish to lead Chapel singing.
Applications for students interested in serving on the Chapel Leadership Teams are available at www.acu.edu/ chapel. Applications are due by the end of the month.
“This year worship leaders will have excited opportunities because of this program,” said Brad Carter, Chapel coordinator.
Worship leaders and praise team participants will be given opportunities through a Worship Renewal Grant from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship in Grand Rapids, Mich., Carter said.
Funds were provided by Lilly Endowment, Inc., Carter said. The new program is called the Campus Worship Formation Program; among its is the Chapel Leadership Team, Carter said, in which students are trained as worship leaders and worship team members.
Ryan Porsche, senior worship ministry major from Abilene, said two teams make up the Chapel leadership: the Chapel Program Team and the leadership team.
“These two teams will work together to plan daily Chapel services,” said Porche, one of the team’s coordinators. “We have somewhat fallen into a trap in Chapel using the same worship style every day, and sadly there is a large number of students not engaged in worship.”
