ACU men’s tennis will be heading back to New Mexico this weekend for the New Mexico Balloon Fiesta Invitational while the women will come off a two week break and head into Dallas for the SMU invitational.
The men will head down to Albuquerque with senior Jason Proctor, who played last weekend in the ITA championships in Tulsa, sophomore Paul Domanski and freshmen Sebastian Langdon and Cole Lawson. They will begin play on Friday and the schools attending will not be announced until they arrive.
“I’m really looking forward to playing this weekend in New Mexico,” said Lawson. “This is my second college tournament and I know it will be a successful one. These guys are like my family and they always support me and motivate me to do better, on and off the court. I’m honored to be a part of such a close and Christ-centered team because I know when we come together we can achieve greatness.”
The women will be going on a short trip to Dallas for the weekend and will be taking the whole women’s team to participate at SMU. The team was on a two week break and should be ready to perform. They will also begin play on Friday and the schools they will be competing against will also not be announced until they arrive.
“I am very excited to play this tournament with the whole team and to play against good schools,” said Lucile Pothier. “It is going to be a good preparation for us before the regional that is in two weeks.”
The doubles pairs will be announced for both the men and the women along with the results in the recap next week. Both teams look to capitalize on the good tournaments they have already played this year.
