Day Nursery of Abilene

Fri., Sept. 6-Sat., Sept. 14

Come and serve food at the West Texas Fair & Rodeo Day Nursery food booth. To complete the service, four hours per shift is required. Help on Fridays unloading and distributing Krispy Kreme doughnuts to sale locations throughout Abilene. Contact: Becky Dixon at 670-0002.

RAINN (Rape, Abuse, Incest, National Network)

Until Fri., Sept. 9

Volunteers are needed in Rose Park for two tasks: man booths, sell refrments, etc., and help spread word of this event in the community, and speak to businesses regarding donations of products or services.Contact: Kathy Leonard at 690-1078.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Sat., Sept. 21

Join in the fun and help us light the night! Light The Night is a nationwide evening walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. This year there will be nine walk sites throughout North Texas, and the Red Bud Park in Abilene is one of them. Several walk shifts are available.

Windcrest Alzheimer’s Care Center Sat., Sept. 28, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. We need students to work several children activity booths at the Zoo Festival Garden. We will have two air castles, popcorn machine, face painting, basketball booth, etc. Prizes will be given to the children. Lunch will be provided at the site.

S.A.L.T.- (Service Action Leadership Team) is taking applications for new members. Anyone interested in planning and being involved in service projects for the ACU community should stop by the Volunteer & Service-Learning Center for an application. Applications are due back on Monday September 9th.

The Environmental Recycling Center needs volunteers to help with a lake-shore clean-up Sept.,14 and Sept., 21.
