Volunteer Opportunities for Nov. 8, 2002

Strides Unlimited needs volunteers on Nov. 6 to help with ticket sales, book signing, and photo session.

4th Annual Mission Thanksgiving needs donations! Items needed to help the homeless and poor of Abilene out this winter. Suggested items are: non-perishable food items, sleeping bags, coats, blankets, boots and shoes, clothing, socks, toys and cash. Donations can be taken to Arrow Ford, 4001 S. First, on Friday, November 15.

Healing Hands International needs volunteers to help with office work and in the warehouse sorting medical supplies.

Noah Project needs volunteers to work the front desk and answer the crisis hotline phones.

Christ’s Prison Fellowship needs male volunteers to eat meals with small group of parolees and participate in a devotional with inmates.

Boys and Girls Club of Abilene needs volunteers to tutor children with homework and help with after school program activities.

The House That Kerry Built needs volunteers to help with daycare of medically fragile children.

Crime Victim Crisis Center needs volunteers to present educational classes to children and teenagers.

Spring Season needs volunteers to play games and help the elderly with activities.

Meals on Wheels needs volunteers to deliver meals during the lunch hour to the elderly and shut-ins.

For more information on any of these volunteer opportunities stop by the Volunteer & Service-Learning Center or call Ext.2932.
