ACU will take its five-match winning streak to the Texas A&M Commerce tournament this weekend.
This is the final non-conference tournament of the year. The Wildcats will begin conference play on Tuesday in a crossover match against Cameron.
Assistant coach Nora Oglesby said she is looking forward to the tournament.
“I’m excited about this tournament, especially because we will be playing Harding,” Oglesby said. “They have been playing well this year, and it will be fun to play another quality team. Plus, the Church of Christ school rivalry is there too.”
ACU will begin tournament play Friday at 9 a.m. against Harding and then play Southern Arkansas at 3 p.m. On Saturday, the Wildcats will play Henderson State at 9 a.m. and finish the tournament against Central Arkansas at 3 p.m.
“We haven’t played Harding since I have been here, so I am looking forward to it,” said sophomore Nicole Killebrew.
ACU is led by senior Haylee Hartline with 128 kills, and sophomore Michelle Bernhardt leads the team with 176 kills. She is ranked second in the Lone Star conference in hitting percentage (.302) and third in kills per game (4.28).
Lindsey Martin is second in the conference with 11.12 assists per game and Amanda Slate is second in conference with 1.09 blocks per game.
