Senior forward Tucker Pierson’s 3-point play with 30 seconds left against Midwestern State Saturday gave the men’s basketball team a narrow 82-81 win-and a narrow shot at still making the Lone Star Conference Post-Season Tournament.

“That was one of the better feelings I’ve had in my career,” said Pierson, who was fouled on a made lay-up and converted the free throw. “The crowd was hostile all game and when I made that I just looked up and said ‘What?'”

ACU is 12-12 overall and 3-6 in the LSC South and can only hope to make the top four spots in its division by winning the rest of its games.

The Wildcats’ final two games are at home: 8 p.m. Thursday against West Texas A&M and 4 p.m. Saturday against Eastern New Mexico.
