The women’s basketball team defeated the Midwestern State Lady Mustangs 73-57 Saturday night behind 28 points from senior center Audrey Maxwell-Lively. The victory snaps a nine-game losing streak to the Lady Mustangs that dated back to 1998 and improves the Wildcats record to 13-7 overall and 5-1 in league play, good for second in the LSC South.
The men’s basketball team lost its game with the Mustangs 84-73. Senior guard Dante Adams led the team with 22 points in the losing effort. The loss drops the Wildcats record to 8-11 overall and 2-4 in league play.
The women’s team returns to Moody Coliseum for its next game when it faces Texas-Permian Basin Saturday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. The men’s team travels to Lawton, Okla. to play Cameron at 4 p.m.
